Jury Duty Leave
The employer is required to grant an employee leave to serve on a jury. The employer does not have to pay a non-exempt employee called for jury duty. Most employers limit such benefits to a fixed number of working days. This company pays one (1) day for jury duty if employee is a full time (40-hour a week) employee.
An employer cannot discharge an employee for taking time off to serve on a jury. The employer must be given reasonable notice that an employee is required to serve.
